Faith You know, I’ve been hesitant about blogging much about my faith in this space. I’ve blogged about my church and prayer requests, but those aren’t the same thing as my faith, in a spiritual sense. My faith has been such an integral part of my life for so many years that it usually just overflows outta my mouth. Back home, I am constantly surrounded by Christian believers or at least people who respect others’ personal faith, so it was easier to write about my faith on my old blog, especially knowing that 1 not many people would read it anyway, and 2 it was unlikely that I’d really bother anyone with it.

Over here, though, there are more people that are offended by strong Christian faith. I haven’t faith-blogged much just in case any of them read these ramblings that I post. I don’t want to offend anyone, and maybe I’m afraid of being judged. Lately, that’s been bugging me. Why should I tame this faith? For God’s own sake, I shouldn’t.

I respect other faiths, of course, but Jesus Christ is the one that I believe in, and with that, I believe that He’s the only way, truth, and life. Mine is a faith to shout from the rooftops, but instead, I’ve toned it down. How foolish of me. It doesn’t do anyone good if I’m a lukewarm one.

Couple celebrations In South Korea, there seems to be a lot of excuses for celebrations by dating couples. For example, Korean couples celebrate dating anniversary every days of their relationship. You may see in some Korean TV dramas that couples count down to the th day anniversary and plan how to celebrate it and what gifts should be bought. The couples have anniversary celebrations again on the th day, th day, and so on of their relationships.

Such day anniversaries are so important to the couples that if one party forgets such anniversaries, the other party may use it as the reason for splitting up. So, in South Korea, some people use smartphone app to help keep tracking of such day anniversaries. There are also some special romantic days in the South Korean calendar for couple celebrations.

Julio Moreno Accommodation in Korea is somewhat different from other countries. A lot of unique options are available for all kinds of budgets, so it would be wise to consider them in addition to the usual suspects of hotels, motels, hostels, guesthouses and more recently, Airbnb. Unfortunately, many are marketed only to Koreans an require knowledge of the language.

Here is hopefully a complete list of all kinds of accommodation in Korea. Feel free to copy and paste. By far, my favorite type of accommodation in Korea is the Hanok. A Hanok is a traditional Korean home, dating back centuries to the Joseon Dynasty or earlier. There are two main types of Hanoks, one with a tile roof giwajib and one with a straw roof chogajib. These vary in price, comfort, basic amenities, and authenticity widely, so be sure to read the reviews. A real hanok is incredibly basic as it was the home where entire extended families lived under one roof in ancient times.

However, due to tourism, domestic and international, newer hanoks are being built to suit all tastes, including some in Seoul with the works. Also, like all accommodation in Korea, the floors are heated. The Hanokstay program is sponsored by the official Korean tourism board and is a good way to find reliable hanoks throughout the country.
